I really don't know what to tell you to do to overcome depression. I was depressed and couldn't and wouldn't do anything but go to work, and even then, I missed a lot. I just didn't feel like working some days. I slept a lot, sat in the dark and cried, and so forth. I was on an anti-depressant for 6 years and I just decided that life was too good to pass up! I weaned myself off of them, and so far, life's pretty good. I've even hit a rough patch over money, but I can handle it! I hope you can get through whatever is making you depressed!

Hi there, well it depends on why you think the depression started. I have depression episodes every now and then. I just got over a major one because I wasn't involved in any activities besides work and coming home...(no social life). I since signed up to become a volunteer at our aquarium, and am just waiting on passing the background check to start volunteering there. I'm very excited about it, and meeting new people and working with the animals. Maybe you could try something along those lines. Good luck!!

The answer of your question depends upon that what type of depression you have. If you have any family depression, just don't spend your time much on thinking on that. Read a good book. If you have exam depression, take a good break. Watch TV. If you have property depression, don't waste your type on thinking of what will happen type of questions. At the last the best way to get rid of depression is to take a bath and meditate. It will surely reduce your depression.

there can be various reasons of falling in depression.a break-up,failure in studies, etc.but the real job is coming out of the coccon.start diverting yourself from the matter concerned.start singing,it helps a lot.make new friends or if u feel shy of yourself, buy a good movie ticket (like 'music&lyrics' which does not consist of any violence.)& just let go.dont pay attantion on what the people think of u.it doesnt matter if u believe in yourself.join some hobby class preferabily, dance.if u will dance your problem away,i promise u;it will never bother u again.and whenever feeling angry or frustated start thinking about what u have gained in life not about what u have lost.

i recently figured this one out the hard way...mainly time and any strongholds you have...like friends or a passion. Either way things will seem hollow..but it gets better and good things speed up recovery.
This all assuming you prefer not to do therapy or drugs. I just wanted to handle it myseld so this what i did.
Hope this helps...feel better soon.

Exercise is supposed to help depression, but people I know who have dealt with serious depression needed prescription drugs.

I believe the key is to focus on others. Volunteer your time. I also believe that depression comes from focusing on yourself. What yo concentrate on becomes magnified. Concentrate on other things.
