Seven is a big number to me in many ways.. I have a brother 7 years older than me, a brother 7 years younger than me, one 7 years younger than him. My oldest son and my birthdays are on the 17th (different months)but again 7's, and so many more 7's came up while talking about things. We kind of joked around with it and said wouldn't that be a cool date, so I looked on the calendar and saw it was on a Saturday and we kinda just went with it. It will be a easy day to remember..(but we would never forget the day anyways..lol)

I'm not getting married, but that would be a neat day for it.

The number 7 is used a bunch through the Christian Bible. It is the most significant number in the whole Bible, in fact. Some people say that its the luckiest number and things of that nature as well.

Good luck with your marriage. : )

First of all, congratulations!

Secondly, it's that time in my family where all of the extended family members (including me!) are tying the knot, so I have a lot of experience. Additionally, my cousin is getting married on 7/7/7 also! I spoke with her about her choice of date and she conveyed to me that her choice was about two things 1. perfection and 2. superstition. Her and her fiance have been together for quite some time now, and she's been dreaming of her perfect wedding for years- even the perfect wedding date. She said it seemed simply perfect to have her wedding date on 7/7/7. It's, to be honest, an unforgettable wedding date. That's why so many people are snatching up this wedding date. Additionally, she conveyed that the number 7 is so highly esteemed in superstition that it seemed like an additional blessing on her wedding day. Believe it or not, our culture is still highly superstitious, even when it comes to numbers. That is why there were absolutely no marriage certificates dated 6/6/6! People tend to believe that numbers do mean something, and, when it comes to something as important as a wedding, people just want an extra bit of good luck!

So good luck to you!

Ya know-I was driving to work one day and, brainstorming just so happens to be my hobby when I'm bored. I really came across 07/07/07 by accident while I was driving along-deep in thought.
You see, we have been engaged for 4 years. (I know, I know!) We wanted to wait until I graduated from college, since we were spending alot to pay for my education. Funding a wedding and paying for college would have been a rather large task, so we opted to wait it out.
So I'm driving along and thinking to myself that, if I graduate in May I could start planning in January or February and have the majority of things all tied up. Then, when May (graduation) comes around, I could give myself a couple of months to tie up loose ends. I pulled out the calendar when I got to work...and there it was. 07/07/07...on a Saturday!
I called him when I discoverd this awesome date! He agreed that it sounded like a fantastic date and made the Christian connection between 7's and the bible. We thought that must have been a sign! We just knew it would be the perfect date for us!
I THOUGHT we had decided on a day that would be unique! (Plus-the added bonus of being easy to remember for an anniversary, ya know.)
BUT. When I started telling people what date we picked-I found out that the day wasn't as unique as I had hoped! I've now resorted to adding extra work to my already overloaded schedule-sending out "save the date" cards! I've heard so many people say, "I'm glad I know you're getting married on that date since 'so-and-so' is getting married that day too-I'd rather come to yours!"
So, to end my little Yahoo-Novel, he and I set the date completely by "signs" and timing. It just seemed as though we really did discover the right path to take at the time we were supposed to take it!
Great question!

My husband and I are getting married on 07/07/07....A lot of people think we picked it because 7 is a lucky number, but that had nothing to do with it....

We were living together and in the mist of starting the wedding plans, but I got pregnant....instead of rushing the wedding we decided to postpone it.... After the birth of our daughter we decided to wait after we finished with the baby business....and get married on our 5th anniversary (5 is my favorite #)We got married civilly on July 5th 2002, and we always said that for 5th anniversary we would get married by church, and have a huge wedding... July 7, 2007 is the closest week-end to our anniversary.

The best part that resulted from holding off the wedding is that our 2 kids will be able to be part of one of the most important moments in our lives.

What is your reason for getting married on 07/07/07?

I'm not, but I know several people that were going to and couldn't because everywhere was booked. There are over 30,000 couples registered on The Knot.com that are getting married on 7-7-07. Compared to an average of 13,000 couples on any other given saturday during the summer!

Uh, yeah...LOTS of people are getting married on that date. I know of 2 couples who are getting married on that date alone, and that's not counting all the people I've seen on here that are planning their weddings for 07/07/07. I think the reasoning is "lucky 7's." Like in slot machines or something.

I have clients marrying on this date. It has a very special numerical meaning, as I understand it. It would only happen once every 100 years, would it not? 1807, 1907, 2007, etc

It is deemed to be one of the luckest days of the year to marry - just ask all those couples who have booked their wedding, including all the hollywood ones too.

Wow, I am scheduled to be married on that day. It was chosen because the number 7 is the number of completion and I am the 7th child of my Mother. I just always liked the number 7. My fiance' asked me what I thought and I said Perfect. So that's why we chose that day.

We decided to get married that day not only because 777 is very lucky, but in the Bible 7 is a perfect number. So it made a perfect day.
