You can see a regular doctor - maybe you have a little underlying anxiety. It's no big deal. The doc can prescribe you somethin low dose for it. I think not dealing with anxiety problems stinks because it can start to make you insecure and that's no good.

Trust me when I say this isn't a dumb question. A lot of people get nervous when it comes to giving reports or speeches. I used to be the same way. Whenever I got up in font of people I would feel sick to my stomach, start to shake uncontrollably and my voice would crack or I wouldn't be able to speak.
A few years ago my mom made me take Public Speaking class, My teacher gave me some very helpful tips. One of the most helpful was telling me to focus on a select point. When ever you get up to speak you just pick a spot in the room and look at it rather than the audience. Another good tip was telling me to practice with friends or family before speaking in front of the class.
Also before speaking I would take a moment and clear my head. Just take some deep breaths and try to relax. Remember that the more you practice and the more times you get up to speak the easier it will get! I hope this helped you some!

That depends on what causes you to be so nervous. If it is'nt caused from a previous trauma then you can learn to work through this.Practice speaking in front of friends, people you are comfortable with. The more you do it,the easier it will get. Many people are uncomfortable with public speaking. You could use mind tricks.you could try thinking:This is five minutes that will be over in one and then I'll be eating my favorite food,I own this company and I need to let my employees know this,Everyone is thinking about what to eat for dinner,so they are'nt listening anyway, everyone here is my best friend and are interested in what I have to say,After my speech,I get a new car.You get the idea.Have cue cards with you if possible.Keep your eyes above the crowd, look just above their heads at a wall and just move your eyes along the wall.I heard that a person has to do something 21 times in a row for it to become habit.Practice ALOT with your friends.Good luck. You can do it.

I know exactly how you feel. I have a stuttering problem that's been with me all my life. I would get so nervous when it was my turn to read I would stutter. In school I would do anything to get out reading. I even ditched school to get out of it. I wouldn't recommend that. The best thing to do is to practice in front of your family a number of times. The more practice you get the better you will be. Good luck and hope all goes well.

I lost so many grade points because of that disorder. i would take a c instead of an a(penalty) because i was so afraid to stand up and talk. why? i was a jock type and did good on standardized tests and was certified smart but i guess underneath it all (very poor family and foster homes etc) did a number on me. never felt worthy to even be there. worse case, i left pilot training because they made us stand up and present reports. sie. they all seemed the in-crowd and i felt like the outsider. i was the outsider. mixed up kid and struggled my whole life with that crap. so many opportunities lost and tossed away. saw counselors and a couple of shrinks. no help. drank heavily when i did have to talk to a group. terrible thing. what to do. have no idea. i wish i had shot a little lower without that need like having my own little electric or plumbing business. could have been well off and never suffer from what you described. i cannot help you but i know exactly how you feel. god bless and good luck.

I don't think a psychiatrist would help you, this is not a mental illness, it is nerves. Try some deep breathing exercises to help calm down beforehand. If this is very serious a doctor may be able to prescribe some medication for you.

try reading out loud more often, i too get nervous all the time, so don't feel dumb. im afraid i might make a mistake when i read infront of people, the only thing to do is read aloud more, you can do this in your room alone, and youll be ready to do it infront of other people, good luck!

You probably get nervous because you are thinking about ways that you can mess up ad that can be embarrasing so just take a deep breath, think positive, relax, and if you mess up its alright everyone does
