my friend just revealed to me that he had been born without hair and will never be able to grow any. He wears a good wig, so i didn't expect that. He seems fine to me. A little underweight. What would the name of this be? i want to do some research on it

Alopecia areata is one disease that can cause permanent hair loss...I'm not sure if there could be others.
