If st. Francis of Assisi was here, what would he tell the Church today? Riches and proprerties all over...banks..cardinals being tried for pedofily and bribes..Isn'it time for a change?

Well when you consider the size of a ring, even if it were made of pure gold, it would really not amount to that much money when you think about it|

And what would St. Francis say today?

He would tell them right off!

I am not too proud of what my Catholic Church has become today|

Most of the priests, bishops, and teachers of religion now teach a doctrine *contrary* to what the Church teaches - humanistic pablum instead of the strong meat of supernatural theology|

In St. Francis' time, the Church also was in a bad way, with corruption rife in it|

Our Lord appeared to him in a vision and said: "rebuild my Church!"

Because of this, St. Francis went about the task of needed reform which indeed improved it because of St. Francis' work, so that what resulted was the hierarchy and laity (generally speaking), living lives of holiness|

But the state the Church NOW??? - WOW!!! - I say nuke the damn thing and just trust Jesus in His omnipotence to bring it back to life and existence|

You have to keep hoping, no matter how dark the night|

Not ALL the saints lived lives of poverty, but if you think that's what God is calling you to do, then please go for it.

The Pope's ring represents the authority of his office.

And unlike non-Catholics, the Pope actually HAS authority, and it comes directly from God.

St. Francis of Assisi was obedient and respectful of the Pope, even when he didn't get exactly what he wanted.

As for your other comments, Jesus hand-picked only 12 apostles, and slightly more than 8% of them turned out to be corrupt.

There's a billion Catholics in the world today, with over a million priests and bishops. If that 8% number actually held up today, we would expect about 80,000 cases of corruption. Yet there's actually just a tiny fraction of that.

The church is always changing.

What do you really know about it, FIRST HAND?

And why would you try to hold the Pope to a higher standard than God himself?

Jesus said in John 10:10 that He came that we might have life more abundantly. Abundant life if anything is not poverty. In
II Corinthians 8:9 we are clearly told that Jesus became poor that we might be rich. You might ask, when did Jesus become poor? When He died on the cross. He had nothing, even the air He breathed was done at a cost of pain. A reading of the chapter demonstrates that this is not just talking about spiritual things but the physical as well.
Now if you want to be poor, that's you choice. But Jesus paid the price so you could be rich. Do you still want to be poor?

i understand fairly some fundamentals approximately Jesus and his existence. i understand that his self assurance is impeccable and his love is tolerant yet stern. i like the question: What would Jesus do (in this actual subject)? I translate that as: What would extremely like do? i think that in case you truthfully love God and artwork to glorify God in turn you compliment what Jesus stands for. it is like those 3 words... Love, exhilaration, certainty. One continuously follows the different no count the order. the 1st 2 commandments are all you prefer as a handbook to living a pleasurable existence aligned with God's will and Jesus' occasion.

Because the Pope isn't really a Jesus follower....He's a Catholic, Not a Christian.

Because we live post calvary not precalvary. Jesus died for our poverty too.
