Don't. The silent treatment is a game many women play and its a sign of immaturity. If a woman or man gives the silent treatment to someone they care about - its best to walk away from the relationship. No one needs an immature partner.
The best way to work out any situation is communication. However, not everyone knows the right way to talk or communicate. Men also "think" about things - a lot.
If you walk away from a bad argument or disagreement, this is good. It gives both of you space. That's a lot different from the silent treatment So, walk away or out of the room. Then, when you re-enter the room or talk to the person again, don't discuss the situation. Drop it for a while. When the two of you are calm, even if its a day, week or so later, you can discuss it. In the meantime, be your normal happy self and don't allow one situation to control your relationship.
Hope this helps a little.

I have a tip: GROW UP! The silent treatment is a game for kids to play when trying to get their points across or pout. Adults talk their problems out

its generally bad, but it can sometimes help if its just for only a short time. But i suggest not to give the silent treatment because communnication is the only way to solve problems, not being silent.

make sure the person knows why your not talking first and then just keep looking at them when they talk. look away when they are silent. and most importantly don't talk. it never works for me because i love a good fight

a better way to get your point across is just to say what you mean.
