At 6 weeks, she's too young to be away from her Mom, she should still be having milk from Mom. Don't give her cow's milk, it can cause diarrhea. In a kitten so young, dehydration is a serious issue. I believe walmart carry kitten milk replacer, go and get some and if she can't lap it from a saucer, you will need kitten feeding bottles which I think you can also get there (i'm not in the US but know cat people there)
In the meantime, you can make a kitten replacement formula. Note this is only for short term use as it's not complete food for kittens.
* EMERGENCY Kitten Formula
(The following is to be used only in emergency situations where a kitten formula is not available. They are NOT meant or formulated to be used long term)
HOMEMADE RECIPE FOR KITTEN FORMULA
3 oz. condensed milk
3 oz. water
4 oz. plain yogurt (NOT low-fat)
3 large or 4 small egg yolks
ANOTHER KITTEN DIET
1/2 cup whole milk
1 egg yolk
1 drop mulitple infant vitamins (Please ask your vet)
Mix well or blend together in a blender for smoothest consistency.
Also try mixing the wet kitten food with a little warm water to see if this makes it easier for her to eat. If it's dry food, soak it in fairly warm water to soften it before feeding.
A vet check is a must to rule out any serious illness as cats can be sick and hide it very well by the time symptoms appear it can be too late.

This happened with one of our cats, too. The good news is that, unless there is something really seriously wrong with her, she will eat when she gets good and hungry. She's probably a little stressed out being away from her mother and in a new environment (even if you've had her for a few days, cats sometimes take a great deal of time to adjust to a new home). If the fact that she's not eating really bothers you (which it did me) try enticing her with some canned tuna. Our kitten LOVED it -- it was the only thing she's eat for the first two weeks we had her. We eventually weaned her off of it and she started eating the dry cat food we gave her (while she was eating the tuna, she spent a good deal of time "watching" the other cats eat the dry food). She's almost 3 years old now and doing just fine.

Have you checked whether any of the foods you have offered your kitten (or what she has eaten) one of the recalled cat foods listed Friday night and Saturday morning? There is an enormous amount of them (40 brands of wet canned cat food!). They were recalled becuase there had been a number of cats that sickend and developed kidnney failure. Some have died. Kidney failure symptoms include, vomiting, loss of appetite, lethargy and changes in kitty litter habits of the cat. Before you tempt your kitten to eat, PLEASE check the cat food against the list given by Menufoods. Go to www.menufoods.com and click the button for pet foods on recall.

Whatever she was eating before, give it to her. I had the same problem with my daughters cat. She changed her food and the cat would rather die than eat it. The cat finally ate Fancy Feast Fish & Shrimp feast soft food. If you don't get her to eat soon she will die. Our cat went 2 weeks without eating, and had to have water or saline injections to keep her alive.

Go to the vet or the pet store and ask for samples. They're free and you can stop wasting money on stuff she won't eat.
ummm....she has been weaned right? You didn't say how old she is.

Definitly take it to the vet. That happened to my cat and she ended up having an infection on her gums.

Cow's milk has too much lactose for the kitten. They can drink it, but slowly it will do nothing, and they could die.

>>Could they be all of those foods that have been recalled? Have you tried milk? Or tuna. Not good to give them these things all the time but will at least get her eating.

Call a vet, she's obviously sick or something.
Cats won't not eat because they don't feel like it or think they'll get fat, they won't eat because their body won't allow them.
