While not belonging to the deposit of faith, private revelations may help a person to live the faith as long as they lead us to Christ. The Magisterium of the Church, which has the duty of evaluating such private revelations, cannot accept those which claim to surpass or correct that definitive Revelation which is Christ.

I personally do not believe God has private revelations today. The Holy Spirit has come to offer comfort and to guide us. If God had a revelation to make, I believe there would be more than one person to witness it.

I don't believe in private revelation as such. I do believe the Holy Spirit can communicate with us to comfort, reassure, warn, etc. But not to give new revelations.

As long as the 'private' revelation is consistent with God's Word (scripture) I have no rpoblem with it.

As much as I love catholics this is one place where I disagree with Cath. church's insolence and anti-scriptural stand.

Jesus said clearly, "when he, the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all truth,...for whatsoever he shall hear that shall he speak to you....and he will SHOW YOU the things to come.". John 16
".and he will take that which is of mine AND SHOW IT TO YOU" John 16

If that isn't 'private' revelation ...what is?..
