Im going to be turning 16 soon and I cant really afford proactiv. Is there any other quick, walmart products that work alright? Is it even normal for me to have acne on my back at this age? Will it ever go away naturally?

Acne and teenagers is like white and rice, it just goes together. In other words, yes it is normal to have acne at this age.

There are a couple things you can do to lessen it without any special chemicals or anything.

The first is to get a backscrubber and use it regularly, to both exfoliate and clean. Acne can be a result of clogged pores sometimes.

Another thing is to make sure you change your sheets regularly and wash your pajama's regularly. Alot of people slack in this department and while for most of us it won't show any major effect, if you're prone to it the buildup in dirt and body oils and can give you acne, especially on your back since most people spend a good deal of time on it while they're sleeping.

At the same time, don't expect any miracle cures, your body is going through alot of changes right now and as you get older it'll clear up.

It's normal at your age. Acne is most common in the teenage years but can extend into the 20s and 30s.

Neutrogena makes this "Body Clear" bodywash (I think that's what it's called), you could try. Look for ingredients like salicylic acid and bezoyl peroxide. Apply zit cream to your back before bed, and try to keep your hair up and away from your back. If you sweat a lot/exercise, the damp clothes will make the acne worse, so be careful to keep it clean/change clothes if you sweat.

If the bumps aren't too bad after a while, try an anti-blackhead/acne scrub.

All these products can be bought at the drugstore. Proactiv uses the same ingredients as drugstore products, it's just advertised better.

Angelina O, has found that applying ACV topically to her face several times a day (4 or more times) has cured her of a "very bad complexion". She reports that she applies it straight and that while it burns her skin a bit, it still works like a miracle!
Cheryl writes, "My daughter developed a case of moderate acne, and after trying a number of different things for over a year which helped very little or not at all, she started drinking 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar three times a day and applying it topically once at night. She has been acne free for two months. It took about three weeks to clear up."

It is indeed normal for you to have acne at your age, whether it's on your body or face. Teenagers are notorious for it. I would recommend buying an oil-free bodywash for acne to use in the shower (Neutrogena makes one), apply a thin coat of alcohol to your back afterwards, allow that to dry, and then use a light, oil free lotion on the area as to not dry out your skin. You can even use an oil-free facial moisturizer on that part of your body. (Many companies make these. Neutrogena, one called Purpose, etc.) Also, be sure any fabric that comes in contact with your back, such as clothing or sheets, is clean. Good luck!

Take 2 tbls. apple cider vinegar in a glass of water 2 x day. Will purify the inside of the body where everything comes out of. For a couple of days you will get some acne, but after that you will have wonderfully clear skin. ACV has 93 vitamins and minerals. Very inexpensive too. Read the apple cider vinegar cures website.

Yes, it's normal for many people your age to have acne. It will go away as you get older. Over the counter treatments have been found to be effective in treating the condition. But, if it gets worse, you may want to see a dermatologist for more aggressive treatments.

Yes it is normal. Rubbing alcohol works well. It dries the affected areas and you will notice less acne. Make sure to always wash youre back in the shower. It is just a stage.

I use to have severe acne on my face and back and its finally starting to clear up. If you are on medicaid you can have a dermatologist prescribe you a topical medicine. If not you can get Acne Free or something with benzoyl-peroxide. It's completely normal to have acne on the back. I am now seventeen and it took awhile for the acne on my back to clear up.

I know lots of grown men who have that problem. I suggest that you clean your back with Listerine, its a disinfectant. I use it on my face and it works great, you will notice a difference the very next day. You will need a bag of cotton balls. Get your Mom to put the Listerine on the cotton balls and wipe down your back, change cotton balls often. Use 5 or 6 to clean your back nightly. I'm not kidding, you won't need proactiv

Sometimes its a food allergy. Check with your doctor. Do you drink a lot of soda? I used too and I used to break out on my upper arms really bad. I tried Lever 2000 soap and it took it all away. Try it, or an antibacterial soap. Hope this helps.
