If you have a crush on that certain person ask them on a friendly date. Why should it matter if they don't like him/her? Those are your feelings. If they have something against you for that they must have too much time on there hands at work to focus on the "gossip" of your love life.
That is nothing for them to worry about. If you are that concerned about the people at your work that dislike that person you will never be able to enjoy your life. Remember, you only live life once. Be bold.
If they ask questions about be open to tell them. If they reject your taste come back with a wise and quick strike of an answer. You cannot help what your heart desires. I believe in you! Good Luck!

Hmm whats the problem? Just because hes disliked by everyone else, doesnt mean anything when it comes to how YOU feel for the person.
Why do you care what others think about him/her? Does he/she have bad attitude or has done something wrong that made others not like this person? I mean there has to be a reason, cant just ask this question without explaining?

Beginning a relationship with anyone at work is a bad idea. It doesn't matter if they're well liked or not. The problem is if things don't work out with this person you have to see them every day. Choose someone else instead. You'll be glad you did.

like typical situation, everyone always falls in love with the wrong person, but than you might learn your mistake.
people might not like him/her, but ask yourself why you like him/her, and see there might be some good out of this person.
