I am very excited to get a third puppy (my first one died of liver cancer, and the second got ran over on the farm), but i don't know which kind to get.
I want a breed that will need an average amount of exercise, live in a hot summer/cold winter climate, and that is good with cats and little kids.
I don't want a poodle or anything tiny like that.
I want something big enough that i can run with (or bike with), take to baseball games, and that can stay on the first level of our house...any ideas?

you should get a lab or golden retriever or even a saint bernard. they are a good size dog and since you mentioned a farm there would be a good amount of space to run around. also they will be good running aprtners. hope this hrlps you out. good luck on picking your nerw pet and congrats in advance.

Since it is obvious that you do not have a clue about obedience training, your services should be for free. You cannot train even an adult dog for 8 hours a day. About the most that can be done at any one time is 10 - 20 minutes and that is with an adult dog and not a puppy. The attention span on this baby is extremely short and training session should be no more than 10 minutes and twice a day. Additionally, there isn't going to be much learned if you will only be training for 5 days. Obedience training is cumulative and is done over a much longer period of at least several weeks to several months.
What you can charge is determined by your experience, reputation, and accomplishments and in a case like this, should also include guaranteed expectations. Just working with dogs over several years, is not the experience that is necessary to be a dog trainer. There are too many people who are putting that title to their name and fleecing the public. Don't be one of them.

you should try a golden retriever, a labrador or a german shepherd. A golden retriever will be most loyal to you if you take care of it. A labrador will get along pretty well with the cats and little kids. And a german shepherd will protect you in times you need it. May I suggest that if ever you do buy a german shepherd, buy a REAL PUPPY, meaning it is 3-5 months old for it to get along with the cats

Consider a mixed breed puppy.
Check Petfinder.com for puppies needing a home near you.
The key to having your dog get along with cats and kids is training. Obedience training is immensely helpful for a number of reasons.
Good luck finding your new best friend.

Go to the shelter. Bred dogs tend to be inbred and problems are magnified by it. That said, I'd look for a beagle. Especially if it has room to run and play. They are great dogs. Golden Retrievers are great bigger dogs, but again pure breds have hip problems often. Oh, might be a bit big for taking to games though.
