Use the blender. More ice cream, less milk.
For enough for two, 6 scoops favorite ice cream, about 8 ice cubes, half cup milk. Flavoring...chocolate syrup, or use dark chocolate cocoa powder. Fresh strawberry and / or bananas, cut bananas up a bit first. Etc. Pulse a few times to break up ice, then add ice cream, pulse a couple times, then add milk, then blend for about 10 to 20 seconds. Use spoon to scoop into tall glasses.

You need a good balance of milk and ice cream but for flavor I use vanilla extract before I decide to add sugar. Start with about 2 cups of milk and add a few scoops of ice cream, blend and then add more until desired consistency.
