That depends on who you ask. Which "god" are you referring to? The Christan/ Hebrew/ Muslim god? or the idea of god in general? The answer really depends on you point of view. Only you can define what you believe and thus have the power to create you "ideal" god. God by most organized religion's standards would most likely be a contradiction yes. However, for those who define their own ideas about what god is it may not be. God would not be a contradiction for those who truly understand and define the concept.

Most of all the information we have about God is found in the bible, but even though the bible was inspired by God it is tainted with human imperfection in the sense that individual humans literally wrote down scripture passages that we have today, and not God. Any inconsistencies we find in the bible is not God being contradictory but us humans (either the Prophets, or everyday people) misinterpreting the bible. (God is perfection and does not change from decade to decade or century to century-the span of the bible-we just misinterpret the message).

There are many self-contradictory beings. For example, I am quite overweight, and dislike being so, yet I still eat too much. If I can contradict myself in this way, certainly a deity could.

God does not contradict Himself or His character. : )

In my opinion, it's just blindly following an idea a bunch of people made up years ago. I don't know if it's a contradiction, a hoax, a false sense of comfort or what specifically you'd call it.

IMHO - You need to define your question a bit more.

A contradiction of what, exactly?

Most of us (if not all of us) have a need to understand why we are here, who put us here and what is the purpose of us being here.

And then, there are those who don't believe in anything. Monkeys developed into humans and here we are. Confused? You should be!

What exactly, are you asking?

No, it is not even well enough defined to do that even. Something undefined can not contradict anything including itself.

Those who lean unto there own understanding of scripture are leading others astray and blinded by their "pride!" But this has to occur for the Kingdom of God is coming to this earth and establish His way as the only way.

Pride is man's downfall. The End of the circle of man's self rule will be the beginning of Christ's Kingdom but that "pride" must be broken first!
