Tempos and topaz had a tendency of burning of wires in behind heater control panel preventing power from going to fan switch.with selection button pressed .Pullout control panel check for burnt wires.

you can hard wire the fan. The old days the fan would always run now it just kicks in when the engine gets hot. Find the wires from the fan and run them to a fuse that will shut off when the engine is off. the radio or a temp and gas gauge. I sold hoopties years ago... cars with high miles and this was common for ford best of luck

it might be your temperature sensor that is causing u problems if the guage shows that the car is cold all the time or it could also be a fan relay located under the hood of your car in the fues box

when you say fan you mean heater blower motor? or cooling fan? more then likely its your blower motor but check your fuse then check for power to blower motor also verify coolant level is good also check your blower motor relay.
