It's a classic French Nursery Rhyme and basicaly translates as "The Cicada and the Ant", the next line translates to " the cicada having sung all summer". The story refers to an Ant that was busy working all summer while the cicada did nothing but sing, when summer was over and food was scarce the Ant had plenty to eat but the Cicada had none.

Hope you find this helpful!

Referring to the story of the Ant and the Grasshopper.

La fourmi - the ant
La cigale - I think directly its cicada or something like that, its a bibit like a grasshopper.

The grasshopper played all day or more directly, sang all summer.
