ok. One week I won't eat anything and lose 5-10 pounds, and then the next week I can't stop eating, even if my stomach hurts, and I gain 5-10 pounds. I ate the whole food thing! I wish it were easier. However I eat it makes me feel bad. I'm either eating too much or not enough. Is there something wrong with that?

first off...bananas you need to do research becuase bulimia is when you PURGE!! Seriously, don't give information if you dont hve any clue what you're talking about!!!

When you fast a whole week you're bound to lose weight, which can be good. But, as soon as you start eating again you end up gaining weight. You are also more likely to binge and end up eating way too much.

Try and make a set number of calories that you can have each day. By having a regular ammount of food and not fasting/feasting it will probably help you lose weight and keep it off!

Hope this helps! Good Luck!

It doesnt sound horrible, but i doesnt sound good either. I'd try to gradually eat moderate portions everyday. Try to eat a 3 medium sized meal and at least 3 snacks everyday. If you dont eat for a period of time your metabolism slows down and then you wont be able to burn off the calories, so eat small constant portions. Dont eat too much at a time either, it will give you a horrible stomach ache, and you're metabolism won't burn the calories fast enough, and you'll gain weight

Off course there is Amanda!
Not eating is the worst way to loose weight.
Your weight is composed mostly of muscles, bones, organs, blood. Only a small percentage is body fat (the only portion of the weight anyone is interested in loosing, isn't it true?).
To avoid loosing muscle, or bones, you need to provide your body with what it needs to make muscle, bones, blood etc...
Just don't give it the stuff to make that fat!!

Fat is produced as back up stored energy for the body to use later. The problem for most people is that they never come to use it!!!
Most of the fat we store is produced by simple carbohydrates such as SODAS, simple sugars, pasta, pizza, cookies, donuts, French Fries etc...
Muscle, bones and blood, on the other hand, is produced by the protein, vegetables and fruits you eat.

Conclusion, instead of NOT eating, change the WAY you eat, from unhealthy to HEALTHY. Add a good amount of exercise and you will be in GREAT shape before you know it.

GO FOR IT GIRL. YOU CAN DO IT. I can advise you if you need help.

yes, the fast / feast syndrome is very bad.
Try eating healthy foods at regular times every day, and you will see a world of difference in the way you feel, and your weight will balance itself out.
There are websites that you can learn the food pyramid, portion sizes, healthy meal plans. Try it, eating right and eating well make you feel so good because it's what your body really wants!

Yes that is called yo-yoing and it is not good for the heart or any part of your body. It puts way to much strain on your body. Consider eating 3 healthy meals a day with high protein or high fiber snacks between meals to keep things more level.

It's best to eat 3-6 meals a day. You should NEVER not eat. Not eating is doing harm, not good. Your body doesn't lose weight by not eating, and your endangering your own livelyhood. Eating is primal nature. We need to eat to survive.

sounds like to me that you are just an emotional eater. start a journal. not only list your happenings, include what you are eating. stay busy. we tend to feel sorry for ourselves and stay in and eat. this turns into habit. we are safe, secure and we have food. then reality sets in.....we are miserable because we were a little too dependent on food for security. now we are insecure because of our body.

yes your yo-yo dieting and that is very harmful to you body. you have to eat a steady amount over the course of your whole life...not on and off week-by-week. by doing so you wont think of food as much because you aren't over indulging yourself but at the same time you are not starving yourself...
