It doesn't, Mayor. Not even in verse 270,999. Mark was a busy man.
Isn't it interesting how some Christians take the term "lie together" and make it a metaphor for marriage? I thought The Word was literal. ;-)
I certainly hope no mothers and fathers got into bed with their sons or daughters, respectively. Wouldn't that be against Biblical teachings?
TribbleMacher there has yet again come up with the "Most Inane Response of the Hour". Congratulations, TribbleMacher! Shall we throw him a party?
*Hey Tribble - Ever lie? Masturbate? Wear a cotton-polyester blend? Those are all "sins" in the Bible as well. Why should you get married? We all know you've committed the sins you love to speak out against. You know what I think? I think, deep down inside, Tribble, that you are a dirtybird. An oogy little dirtybird. That's what I think.

Read the whole section. He is talking about divorce. How many Christians who point fingers at gay people actually obey these verses?
Mk 10:2 Some Pharisees came and tested him by asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”
Mk 10:3 “What did Moses command you?” he replied.
Mk 10:4 They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away.” l
Mk 10:5 “It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law,” Jesus replied.
Mk 10:6 “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’
Mk 10:7 ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,
Mk 10:8 and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one.
Mk 10:9 Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”
Mk 10:10 When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this.
Mk 10:11 He answered, “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her.
Mk 10:12 And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.”

Mark 10:6-9 in the NRSV states, "But from the beginning of creation, "God made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife. And the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one seperate."
That is talking about the verses in the book of Genesis that discuss why we get married. It does say that marriage is between a man and a woman. The Bible also does speak against homosexuality. However, I do not believe there should be a law based upon my morals.
The catch about these verses is that it isn't so much about marriage, it is more about divorce. The whole passage is about Jesus' response to divorce. Men could leave their wives without reason. The Pharisees were asking Him about divorce. They were abusing the idea of divorce on through a lawful reason. This passage is taken out of context if someone is trying to say that it says that gay marriage isn't allowed by God.

Well, it doesn't say specifically that a man can't marry another man. All it does is say that a man will leave his father and mother and unite with his wife and the two will become one. That's a verse that is in some marriage ceremonies.

It actually states "But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they shall be one flesh, so they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." God does NOT refer to gays anywhere. He says man and woman should become one. ( Not man and man and not woman and woman. ) I personally don't have a problem with gay people and don't feel it is my place to judge. But when you read the black and white it's spelled out. So, this is where it is coming from. I'm friends with plenty of gay people and I really don't feel it's my place to say one way or another what will happen to them at the end of life on earth.
In addition, the other woman on here referring to Leviticus is correct in the way it reads.

Nowhere, however the fact that it stresses in many places the 'union of bonding flesh' between man and wife leads many to believe that marraige is not meant for gays.
Personally, I see marraige as a financial contract designed for survival, people who work as partners in life are bound to be healthier, and therefore to deny gays the right to marry is unAmerican and unChristian.

None of the quotes posted so far say anything about two men (or two women) marrying each other. The closest they've come is one quote about two men not having sex with each other. Sex does not equal marriage.

Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
If they are to be put to death I think marriage is out don't you.
You fell of the head of the pin on which you were dancing. It is forbidden and you can not justify it with the bible.
Mar 10:1 And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judaea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.
Mar 10:2 And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.
Mar 10:3 And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?
Mar 10:4 And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.
Mar 10:5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.
Mar 10:6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
Mar 10:7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;
Mar 10:8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
Mar 10:9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Mar 10:10 And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.
Mar 10:11 And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.
Mar 10:12 And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
Mar 10:13 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
Mar 10:14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
Mar 10:15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
I see no mention of men being considered to be married to men. I see only references to male to female as a marriage.

I haven't seen that in Mark (yet) but i know I ran across it in Genesis. I'm sorry that I can't tell you the exact verse but it definitely says that being gay is a sin.
