Has anyone ever experienced or known someone who had experienced "revenge" from the police of a city after suing that city's department?

Call me distrusting of the police, but I wouldn't doubt it that post-lawsuit, especially if any police involved were personally punished, police would try to get you back.

Say for example, you sue your neighbor city's police, and win, and two officers are suspended. I'd figure the cop would probably pull the person over, drop a baggy of marijuana or something right on your lap, and then arrest you for it.

Any opinions or stories?

The third comment down is idiotic and has no ground.

So this didn't actually happen - you are having a pipe-dream, what if thingie.

I got a better one: what if an unseen asteroid suddenly appeared in the sky and hit the earth near the Grand Canyon.

Call me distrusting, but I wouldn't doubt that some lazy scientist somewhere didn't spend enough time looking in his telescope to see it coming.

Can I sue him? Any opinions or stories?

See how ridiculous nonthinking questions can be?

In my hometown (I don't live there anymore thank goodness!) a teenager whose parents sued the police department was found floating in an outlet of the river. The police said he probably had been drinking and fell in.

If that were the case, why did it look like someone had beaten him to death?

This town has very crooked law enforcement though and I don't suppose they'll be the norm. In my town certain drug dealers were always allowed to operate as long as they paid a certain amount of money to law enforcement and for this fee the police department would also eliminate the competition.

I happen to believe you have a valid point of view. Police personnel are human, and as such they are subject to have a propensity to seek revenge, just like any other person.

Yes - most definetely - I won't go into detail, but my husband (bipolar - now on meds.), was totally bombarded by the local police. He could NOT go anywhere without them "pulling him over", etc. etc. His attornies later contacted the police dept. and stated that unless "they" really want to pursue their client, we will all end up in court - period.
The harassement stopped - really quickly.
Good luck - honestly.
