You make a valid point... why bother with these things? If there is a god, he will judge... why do we waste out time judging each other....?
If there is no god... again, why do we waste time judging each other....
It makes no sense....

God isn't obsessed with punishment. It seems that many people here are obsessed with the idea that God punishes though. God would rather love us and be our friend than punish us. His desire is that none should perish.
I know many people point out the "If you...then I" parts of Deu. and consider that God is telling us if we don't do what He wants we will be punished. I see this differently. God is saying "If you listen to what I'm saying and live a righteous life then I will be able to bless you because the consequences of your actions will be positive. If you choose not to do these things then I can not bless you because the consequences of your actions is to separate yourself from Me." It's not about punishment as much as it is about reaping what you sow. God often warns us about things to help us live full and fruitful lives. If we don't listen the consequences seem like punishment. Free will lets us make the choice. God encourages us to choose Him.

I am not going to sweat it either way. I am comfortable enough to say, what will be, will be. I don't sweat it. My soul will walk the face of the earth, because this is my destiny, I've seen it too many times in my dreams. Religious BS, aside, I go with what I know. I do believe in a higher power, but have such stong ties to the here and now, that if I were to die today, my ghost would haunt the grounds, and people that I love forever. I know my soul will be lost, but for love, I will suffer.

I dont learn about the human beings you been talking to,yet they're incorrect. The Bible says that we cant earn our way into heaven. "For that's by ability of grace you've been kept, by religion--and this no longer from yourselves, that's the present of God--no longer by ability of works,so as that no you may advance." (Ephesians 2:8&9) It also says that we ought to always be doing the Lord's artwork. that's a mixture of both faith & works. the in undemanding words thanks to get into heaven is the ABC's of salvation: Admit that we've sinned, have self assurance that Jesus died & 3 days later arose from the grave & now sits @ the right hand of the daddy & that he replaced into despatched to save us from our sins,Confess our sins to God. Then we w/ God's help we are able to stay the existence God has planned for us. As for the abortion section uncommon yet criminal. There some situations that warrant an abortion. we favor to have an huge, own relationship w/ God. It takes a lot of work like a number of different relationship in spite of the undeniable fact that that's worth it!!! real Christians at the prompt are not Obsessed w/ punishment!!!

I think it was supposed to be perceived that life is a privilege delivered by God, therefore there are rules. As for our own behavior I'm not sure. Perhaps it's mostly fear of being sent to Hell or condemned in some other way. It's important as a society to in force rules. Wolves kill the one that takes a child's food, we kill that which kills us. When we die, it is believed we go on to the ultimate truth. Everything has it's method of persecution, ours is just dedicated to what most percieve as the ultimate power. This question has limitless answeres.

Yes. Those things which we call sin, or bad Karma or whatever, hinder our progress regaining the Whole, but I think all this wrath stuff is more about man than God, and in that sense, a blasphemy.

HE is telling us what the punishment will be if we do not follow the teachings the way parents teach their children the difference between right and wrong. HE wants us to be blessed by accepting Jesus as our savior.

Why are you obsessed with G-d?
Yes, our actions have direct natural consequences. But without good, there is no evil. Without punishment; there is no reward.
