Every single night when I go to sleep, I have horrible nightmares.
Oh yeah, a little backgorund info...I was raped when I was nine years old, by my uncle and again multiple times by my older cousin...that started when I was ten years old...
Anyways, the nightmare is always the same, I am being raped again, it is more like a flashback, because, it is replaying my uncle raping me. I have recently reported the rape to the police. Ever since I reported it the nightmares/flashbacks have happened more often, and they are getting more detailed. It feels like it is happening all over again..I hate sleeping now, because I know that I will have this horrible nightmare again.
Can you have flashbacks when you are asleep? Or is it just a nightmare?
Also, is there any way to stop this??

You are suffering from PTSS...Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. People who have gone through a traumatic experience sometimes experience this. Soldiers returning from the war, rape victims, abused children, and so many more. You need counseling and prayer. Both will help you opvercome the problem. If you choose to forgive your rapists and abusers, this will also help you to be free from the pain which will help you heal on the inside. Forgiveness is hard, but it is so healing. Forgiveness does not mean you are letting the abuser off the hook, but you are freeing yourself from carrying the load and placing it back on them. They are the problem, not you. You are the victim. When you forgive, you choose to heal. When you forgive you put the pain where it belongs...on the abuser. It makes them the guilty ones who now have to deal with it. If you can tell them you forgive them, it is even more powerful. God can help you to forgive. Forgiveness sets you free.
I have a friend who experienced nightmares just like you and after prayer and choosing to put it all in God's hands, the nightmares disappeared and he is now free from those nightmares...and has been for 6 years.

You are suffering from post traumatic stress disorder PTSD. This disorder affects veterans like me and people who have been abused. You have flashbacks during the day and at night you have nightmares, it seems like no matter what or where you go, there they are. There is help. You need to contact your local mental health and ask about a PTSD group in your town. They are free. It helped me after I got out of the military and I feel it will help you too.
There is a great medication that you can take at night that prevents you from remembering your nightmares. It's called Prazosin HCL 1MG Capsule. You take anywhere from one at night to up to two. It doesn't leave you groggy it just helps with the nightmares. I also suggest that you get some counseling to deal with these rapes. You went through alot and you need to talk to someone professional about it.
You also need vindication. It is not too late to report these rapes. If it happened to you it is or has happened to someone else. Please at least go to the police department and file a report. There are crisis hotlines nationally you can talk to.
National Sexual Assault Hotline • 1.800.656.HOPE • Free. Confidential. 24/7.

Hello Jara-Lee. It is a flashback nightmare. It is both in one. I think it really does not matter what it is. It is a consequence of you being abused and not feeling well. It is so important that you seek professional help, so you can talk about what happened, find the root of the problem...this way you will be able to heal it. Argentox2@yahoo.com

You need to speak with a mental health professional. This is too heavy a problem to be served here or by a self-help book. The problems you are having could just get worse. There are probably anti-anxiety medications that could help, but talk therapy will probably help more, someone who works in PTSD. Start with a psychiatrist and then they will recommend a counselor.

Your mind spends a long time getting over this type of thing - I'd say couple this with some intense therapy since it's evident that your mind is still working through it, more so now that you've reported it, it's all fresh in your mind again. Good luck, and remember, it does get better .:D

Check Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Your silent reactions to the event like anxiety and phobias are still there. That's why you keep getting those nightmares.

You are reliving the incident in your sleep. It's a nightmare.
You need to get counseling. Contact the rape crisis center near you. Talk to others who have been where you are and they can tell you how they got through it so this doesn't destroy your life. Only the rapist's life should be destroyed. Don't let him win.

I think that it's a flashback.
You can stop reliving this by getting counseling, and getting deeper sleep.
Try getting exercise (I sleep deeper with exercise) and ask your doctor for other ways.
