I am most inspired by my children. I have a ton of close-ups of my oldest daughter's beautiful green eyes, my middle daughter's sweet angelic smile, and my son's precious dimples. If you are not blessed with living breathing daily inspiration such as that, try a park. I love going to the botanical gardens that are not far from here and just sit quietly and soak up the environment. Really look at your surroundings, not just nature, but the people too. You will be amazed at the beauty you can see in everyday things if you just take the time to look. Don't just look for the conventional. I remember several years ago an amazing picture of a homeless man feeding a squirrel. I think it was in Time magazine. You may be overthinking the whole process. Inspiration is all around you, it is up to you to see it, and you are most likely to find yours when you stop trying to search for it so hard. Worrying too hard about finding inspiration may cause you to overlook it.

An interesting question. I am always seeing the world around me and I am always seeing photographs. When I see something, I see a photograph, and if I have a camera with me, I make a picture. Sometimes I am doing this because someone has paid me to go looking for pictures and other times, I am doing it for the pure fun of capturing a specific moment in time. While I work hard at the technical elements of making a picture, my inspiration is much more spontaneous since for me, I have found that planning too much and trying to force a picture, makes for a disappointing result. While I certainly enjoy looking at the works of others, I am often more humbled than inspired. Inspiration really comes from within, and for me, it is the inspiration to see the world and stop it for a moment.

When my well runs dry, I listen to music in a quiet room, go for a walk and really look at Gods' amazing creation around me, or go look at other artists work that I admire. Hope your inspiration comes soon!

Often I'm inspired by other artists. My friend is an artist and her work is very vivid so I sometimes imitate her style but allow my own method to remain dominant. (Painting and collage.)

Other times I'm inspired by my mood, by music and by recent events in the news.
