I've heard a lot of church people on here claim that 500 people saw Jesus rise into the sky.

I wonder who came up with that idea.

The fact is no one saw him rise into the sky.

Two of Jesus uncle's employees (Jesus' uncle was a wealthy owner of a trading company) were instructed to arrange a meeting in the park, between Jesus and his followers.

When they got there the two employees were aleady there, dressed in white, and informed them that Jesus had just ascended, and was barely out of sight.

As they were craning their necks trying to see him, the two employees said "Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven."

The suggestion was put in their heads they had seen him go, but they had not.

Total number of people who saw Jesus go up into the sky: 0

Jesus and his uncle were pretty clever; and Jesus' followers, not so much.

Next time you hear the church people saying 500, ask for documentation.

Like all other teaching and doctrines in the Christian church we get them from the Bible. The figure 500 however was not the number of people that saw Him rise but the number of people who saw him between the time that he rose from the dead and the time that he ascended into heaven.
Good luck there with writing your own Bible.

1 Cor 15:6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

First, Jesus became already God whilst He created the heavens and the earth. long until now He became born to Mary. 2d, the Bible does not let us know everywhere how a lot of human beings observed Jesus ascend into heaven. The Bible does let us know that over 500 observed Jesus alive at one time. one million Cor sixteen:6 After that, he known to greater desirable than of the brothers on an identical time, maximum of whom are nonetheless residing, although some have fallen asleep. it form of feels to me you should spend somewhat greater time analyzing the Bible because you neglected the info. and you're making a mountain out of a moehill. You're confusing the Ascension, which was witnessed only by the disciples, and Paul's account of those who had seen the risen Christ.

500 people saw Him at one time, but they certainly weren't there at the Ascension, according to Scripture. Only the 11 remaining disciples were there.

Cute story, but you still don't win a teddy bear.
