puppy digging...bed?

Question

I have a almost six month year old bichon frise. we have had her for 3 months. Sometimes when we put her on the bed while we are just lying down she starts intensively digging into the bed. But when we put her down she just barks like she wants to get back up. What is she doing?

well she is digging the bed to make a comfortable spot to lie in.....my pom did this everytime she went to lay on her bed....she barks when you put her down cause she just spent all that time making her bed and you took her off it.....i would get her her own bed if you don't want her doing it to yours or if you don't mind she will do it till she has fluffed the spot to the way she wants it and then lie down.....

She's just getting cozy. My little min pin loves that. So try to get big bunched up beds or a pile of blankets. that sounds like it should be comfy for her. My chihuahua likes to make himself a little cave.

Making a bed for herself out of the comforter thats wut they do. My dogs if u lar a blanket on the floor the dig and make a bed to fit them and they sleep on it. She probualy barks because she wonts to finish making a bed so she can sleep up there. :)

It's nothing to worry about. Its just a denning instinct left over from their wild ancestors. They do it just to try and make their spot a comfy one, much like how people rearrange pillows and stuff.

She is just making herself a comfy spot to lay down in. My dogs do it all the time!

ok there are four reasons she could be doing this!

1. she is looking for a place to potty
2. she is making a comfortible spot to lay in
3. She is trying to entertain you
4. She is crazy

playing, obviously the sensation of the mattress and sheets feels good on her feet she is having fun but i would not make a habit of it or youll ruin the bed
