Okay, this will be work but yes there are many different ways to keep his mind in one place at a time...
1. an organizer or calendar on the fridge for the bigger things in life.
2. Sticky notes for ones self - stick em everywhere to not forget things.
3. He can go to the health food store and tell them - they have a few remedies that might work for him.
4. Cut back on sugar and red food dyes
5. Tell him he's gotta get active - jog, run, walk together lots... do something that keeps his body active. Play a sport together... this is a key ingredient in ADHD.
6. This sounds weird but get a couple of squeeze balls and make them handy around the house so he can just squeeze them constantly if he wishes while he is sitting there.
I hope this helps.

I think you should try ad consult a physican about changing up diet plans or try some kind of mental exercises like meditation if you all want to stay away from the meds which I think is a really good idea by the way!!! I suffer from being an anti depression and in hopes of getting sured I allow my doctor to put me on meds which don't get me wrong at first taking the meds was good but just like any strong drug I have become addicted to them so now that I have taken myself off due to some skin irratations I have encountered from taking the meds I have worster mood swings then ever before and I have a really hard time connecting with others. I yell allot and stay irritated. I was told by my doctor that I may go threw this for a while years even if I don't get back on my meds but I don't want to be depended on meds so I'm all on my own right now!!!! I am supposed to be going to talk with my counselor soon so hopefully they will have a better answer for me.. Best of luck to you and your partner

My daughter has add/adhd and she takes meds. now, some peolpe as adults can seem to grow out of it. If he is to the point of being a danger to himself then I would definitly get him to the doc and get some meds. multitasking, hell I think most of us have problems with that. My daughter stopped taking her meds for a while and I've noticed that she does better on them in school but not necessarily at home. You have to choose how bad he really is? I want wish you the best of luck on this!

My 32 yr old son also has ADD and he refuses to take meds. He has cut back on sugar, caffine, and now exercises more, tries to eat healthy. He has improved greatly. He now runs his own business and has bought a home. There are some natural vitamins and herbs that can also help. I once heard that gotocola helps.

Hello Luminant. I recently read something horrible about Ritalin. It talked that it effects could be similar to cocaine, so I think it is good that your partner is not taking drugs
