We have a 13 week old Chines Crested powder puff who has started loosing his hair. Obviously we are taking him to the vet on Wednesday( the soonest they could get us in). So please don't tell me to take him to the vet. I am just looking for a little info and to see if any one knows if it is possible for a haired dog to become hairless. I should mention his coat was never long. Thanks!

It is a good amount of hair. The skin doesn't seem to be irritated at all and it doesn't bother him. He is not itching or scratching the areas. It is falling out pretty evenly on both sides of his body, near his hind legs. I will call the vet in the morning and see if we can't get him seen sooner.

Your PP will not become hairless. It is perfectly normal for a PP to go through coat changes as they are maturing.

I have a friend that is going through the same thing with her four month old PP. there is no redness or irritation visible. But it seems as he is pulling the hair out. I was actually trying to research for her . She will be going to the vet, but still looking for answers tonight

You need to get this dog checked for Demodex now. It might be a little young for demodex. It is not normal for a powder puff to be losing hair. Is he losing a ton of hair?
