I forgot to add that it is a BB&T check, and I know that the local BB&T requires two forms of ID.

Erm...birth certificate?

Maybe you could call and ask them all the forms of identification they accept.

Do they accept a birth certificate, or a utility bill? Sometimes those are considered ID.

Maybe you can endorse it to a friend with
all the right credentials and they could cash it for you.
