Do you think they named oranges before carrots?

The name "Carrot" was given in 1548 by William Turner
I'm not completely sure about oranges, although I think the source below says they were named in 1513.

Thus, oranges were named before carrots.
I'm assuming that oranges had already been named before they named carrots.

Hmm they're foods. This means different people may have had different names for them. I mean the 16th century is when they were named in the United States. Get it?

i am guessing oranges becasue carrots werent orange until the 17 century!
