My puppy is 6 months and she's at the end of her heat cycle. She's not bleeding anymore, but her vulva is still quite swollen. There is a foul smell coming from her vulva that we can not get rid of despite washing it with puppy soap. It also appears very moist. Should I be worried or is this part of being in heat? Otherwise, she is acting as normal.

Sounds like she has been bred.
It happens no matter how well you watch them.
Check her temp........If it's too high or too low,
Check with your vet to rule out infection.
Could just be part of the cycle, but better
safe than sorry. Any foul odor is not good.

I am sure she is fine. A dog's heat cycle is longer than what you think. When she is done bleeding she is still in heat even though she is less likely to get pregnant now. I would let her clean it herself because the soap may be irritating the skin and causing swelling. The swelling should go down within a week or so. And not to sound gross, but like most females she isn't going to smell so "fresh" after having a cycle. Hope this helps.

is your puppy got a long coat on the rear end. if she does she could just need a bath just make sure that she get dry in that area. and clip the hair away from that area also. if you are worried take her to the vets. the season only last for 3 weeks.

Sounds like an infection. I would have her seen by the vets if it persists over several days. I've never noticed this before so it's not normal.

no this is not normal this could be a sign of a uterus infection which is deadly i would get her to the vet asap
