I have a 4 ft by 6 ft Mirror on the wall facing my front doors with a clear stained glass design in them, to reflect and add light.

Is this reflecting the good luck or chi (I am not sure if that is what you call it) back out instead of allowing it into the house?

Any simple pointers to get me started would be greatly appeciated.

in fengshui, 2 doors directly in line with each other are not good. it represents instant death or easily die. a mirror reflecting a door is the same thing as 2 doors in a straight line.

regarding the reflecting light... i haven't came across this. i guess it is okay. but the 2 doors directly in each other's path is a big bad thing.

the only solution is to remove the mirror.

in most chinese houses, it is a common knowledge that when you open the door to the toilet or the shower, you should not see yourself in front - meaning the mirror must not be in front of the door. because this means death. your mirror is the same with this. it does not matter whether yours is leading to the living and my example is to the toilet. they're both the same case.

Although, many people would advice you to put the mirror facing the front door to have the perception of bigger space.

This is against the principles of feng shui. The reflection just defect the chi from entering into your house.

Furthermore, you can be scared by your own image!

I am not up to date with Feng Shui but usually you can use a mirror to make a room look larger. A front foyer may not be the best place to put this mirror. It will only give your guests a view of themselves. If you have a living room (or any room) that requires more visual depth think about putting the mirror at the opposite end of where your guests enter. It will give the illusion of depth. Open space will give off a more relaxed feeling.
