I'm going to assume you mean RAW hamburger meat.

You should be concerned only about 3 days past the expiration date on the label. The browning on the exterior is a natuarl process of oxygen hitting the hemoglobin in the meat, and nothing to worry about in and of itself.

Most of the blood has drained out of the top of it. If it smells ok, then it should be fine to cook (properly) and eat.

when you smell it burning it good when it's brown that means it cooking
