Skateboard as wall hanging?

Question

My youngest son wants his room done in skateboarding. He wants a skateboard without the wheels as a wall hanging. Is this possible? Will it look odd? Any suggestions for curtains or valances for his room?

Why not try an entire wall using skateboards as shelves? Place skateboards at different levels, separate from each other. Or use skateboards placed vertically and create a bookshelf. Another option is to use skateboards as a headboard for his bed. Similar to a picket fence..but using skateboards attached to the wall at the head of his bed. Don't go overboard, pick one option as a focal point and incorporate other skating items throughout the room. For example, simulate a small half pipe as the base for a desk(wish I could draw you a picture) Go through skating magazines for ideas on what to incorporate into the room. Get your sons input, afterall it is his room. and a great project for you guys to do together. Have fun and good luck.

How totally cool! I bet you could use the wheels into the valances go for it! Posters and poster frames good idea! Ask your son what else goes with skateboarding that is important to him!

I think it would be a great idea. You could use solid colors or find some fabric with skateboards and make a simple valance.

A skateboard on the wall will look cool. They sell them w/o the wheels and all - it's kind of like a hobby kit, it all sells seperately.

i dont know abt the wheels...but it wouldnt look half bad...o ya try red or black maybe even yellow curtains or valances
