Soda is extra as well as liquor. You can have all the fruit juice and water you want.
They are now offering a "Fountain Fun Card"
What is the Fountain Fun Card?
We will offer to all guests the option to purchase a "Fountain Fun Card" which will allow them unlimited soft drinks for the duration of the cruise at a one time purchase price (including gratuities). The "Fountain Fun Card" can be purchased at the casino, lobby and pool bar onboard the ship. In all locations where beverage service is offered, guests may receive a glass of the soft drink of their choice - one glass will be served at a time and only to the guest whose name appears on the card. The card cannot be used through room service.
NOTE: A 15% gratuity will automatically be added on at the time of purchase of the Fountain Fun Card.

I was just on the Carnival Legend two months ago and I bought a Fountain Card. The price for the card is $5.50 per day of your cruise. If you buy the fountain drinks individually, they cost $1.50 each.
You do have to buy your drinks at dinner (fountain or alcohol). The only free beverages are water (tap), iced tea, coffee, milk and juice.
Carnival states that you may bring a "reasonable" amount of soda/bottled water on board with you. The definition of reasonable is rather vague.
A tip for dinner time: go to the bar and get your drink before you head into the dining room. The table service for drinks was very slow.

Yes, soft drinks (soda) costs at all times on a cruise. Soft drinks like iced tea are complimentary.
Sure you can bring water and soft drinks in your luggage. Remember that they are heavy items. Do you really want to lug a case of soda in your suitcase?
You can buy a soda card for about $5 per day which allows you unlimited soda at all the bars.

You will have to pay for your soft drinks at dinner. Go to your ship's website, sometimes they allow to bring beverages on board. Most don't but some cruise lines are changing with the times.
Have a great cruise.

I've been on two Carnival cruises. Soft drinks and alcohol cost extra. Included is water, juice, milk, and I think coffee. Prices range from around a couple of bucks, it depends. You could try calling the cruise line or the travel agent or go to the website.

If you can't live without soda while on the ship, then bring some in your checked luggage. Also if you are a sod pop junkie, you should buy an unlimited soda card (about $40). That way you won't be paying $3-$4 for each one. Personal I go without soda for a week. There is all the free water, iced tea, coffee, and OJ you can stand

You can buy a fountain card for 20.00 or so that will give you unlimited access to sodas. If you buy them individually they get rather pricey. This may be a good option for you all. You can try to bring h20 and soft drinks in your luggage. They didn't check ours when I went. So, my advice is buy a fountain card if you think you'll be drinking a lot of soda. They offer this as you go to board the ship! HAVE FUN!! CARNIVAL CRUISES ARE GREAT!! :-D

They are going to scan all your luggage. You can bring a LIMITED supply of water/soft drinks, but that's it.
Usually on cruises the soft drinks are extra--if I recall correctly. I may be wrong there. I know if you ordered something from the bar (even just a coke), then you had to pay for it.

Yes you do have to pay for your soft drinks at dinner. You also have to pay for alcohol. The answer below me explains about the Fountain Fun Card - depending on how long of a cruise you are on depends on how much that card will cost. You are allowed to carry on bottled water and soft drinks. If you are a big soft drinker - I would bring a case or so of pop on board to prevent you from having to purchase it. I am going on a cruise in May on Carnival Victory - and I just talked to a vacation planner from carnival last week and asked him that question. You can carry on whatever you want to carry on.. .just not alcohol. That is not allowed. Good luck, and I hope that helps!

We had to pay for almost all beverages. Bought a soft drink card (debit style) for our son. We paid for all alcohol consumed by us.
Cruise was wonderful. Usually they x-ray your luggage and don't let you bring alcohol aboard.
