I'm not sure but i hope so as tap is checked for impurities on average of once per week whereas bottled water is checked once per year and is usually found to have the same impurities as tap.

Interesting. Of course a lot of farms big enough to operate a dairy are a fair way out of town so don't have a public water supply available and/or prefer not to pay for water from a municipality. They often use well water, streams, or ponds for a water source. Some use windmills to pump water from a well into a watering trough for the cows, thus avoiding the cost of purchasing the water for that many critters.
