They are excellent guard dogs. Care for them is just like any other large breed. Make sure you take them to the vet and get all the shots, and have your vet set up a check up schedule. They eat depending on how active they are. If they are very active, they eat more, if they're lazy, they eat less. More activity+more energy used=more food eaten (usually) Then again, dogs have individual personalities, like people. So how much he eats will be dependent of his own character.

This was the last kind of dog I had, miss him terribly. You keep them the same way as a anormaly German Shepherd. Mine was a brilliant guard dog (when we went walking, people used to cross the road - then only realise he's on a leash). Formidable big ears sticking up takes up to 9 months for it to happen naturally tho). Fantastic temperament, when the landlord's Jack Russell attacked him & bit him on the lip & just HUNG from it, he just raised his lips into a snarl, nothing more. Wonderful with kids.
I never had him get sunburnt and we were in South Africa, no flea dermatitis, no allergies.
I have to note that you need to check that if you get one, get the best of the litter, this is one breed where runt of the litter is not good.
He was a very good eater (grew up on the farm along with 7 other dogs), managed to avoid snakes, and automatically defended the farm from puppy. He always came to me when I walked out of the house, so only when I moved off the farm did I need to teach him about a leash, he hated it, but got used to it. He also had no problem with 7 cats we had.
They're dogs you can train very easily as they're smart.
And there was nothing wroing with his stomach either, it's common sense to not make any dietary changes too fast with any animal. His diet was changed quite a few times (dietary needs change when one leaves a huge farm and go into suburbia, etc) and there was never any problem.

I had a White German Shepard and let me say that she was one of the best dogs I've ever had. I have always had German Shepard's because they make great watch dogs and excellent companionship. Their eating habits are the same as any German Shepard. I prefer Pedigree Brand mixed in with some dry food. Always, and I stress, Always keep fresh water in his or her water bowl. Also make sure that they have some type of chewy such as milk bones - my dog prefers rawhide - they need this for their teeth and gums. Also make sure that their shots are up to date. They are excellent guard dogs and you will have years of pleasure with you White German Shepard. Good Luck!!

the care of a white german shepard is no different to the care of any other german shepard. they need a feed twice a day, clean water left were they can get to it when they want it. and good long walks. if it is a puppy you are getting ask the breeder if there are any special care tips they can give you.a puppy needs 4 meals a day.yes they make good guard dogs.

I had a white german shepherd for 16 years. No different than caring for any other shepherd., and eating habits were the same. She was a VERY good guard dog, but very gentle with the kids in the family. Her name was Juneau and she was the best!!!

I had a white German Shepard many years ago. She was the only white dog out of a litter of 9!

We did nothing special...even though her mother was a beast!

Her name was Daisy. She was a great dog and lived to be 14.

Just treat her (him) like a normal dog and family member ( be nice!) and you will enjoy her (him) for many years.

German Shepard's, and most other dogs, are protective with their owners.

You can make them an aggressive guard dog...but I wouldn't.

A white German Shepherd has all the same attributes as any other colored GS as for training & character. The are actually Alsatians as their heritage began in Alsace-Lorraine on the French-German border.

White dogs are very hard to keep clean, GSD,s have very tempermental stomachs, you cannot swop and change their diets, stick to one type of food and don,t mess with it. They can be excellent guard dogs and excellent pets, mine was my best friend for 10 yrs, and yes i still miss him so much.

The same way you take care of any other large breed dog.

They are very similar to German Shepherds except their skin is delicate and they are prone to sunburn, flea dermititis, allergies, etc. because of it.
