Yes you can. Modern charging devices now will not overchage them like they would have ten years ago. I have left mine in for a month with no problems, YET. But I do try to take them out when I remember. Just habit from the old days.

But read your manual too. My manual for the El Cheapo drills says not to leave the drill batteries longer than 4 hours as this may damage them. But on my DeWalt, brand name, I can leave them in there forever.

Most rechargeable batteries can remain in the charger without causing any damage to the batteries.....

Yes, it's like any other rechargeable thing, when it is fully charged it doesn't hurt it. Think about it - Dust Busters, Flashlights, Cell Phones - are all rechargeable, ready for use.
