What would give you a reason to tell people you never did anything with a girl, when in fact you actually did do something with her. Why would you deny it?

Well, stereotypically, guys will deny it if confronted by another girl who he loves. In some cases, a guy would deny it if he's afraid of commitments. In rare cases, a guy would deny it if the one asking is another guy(probably a lover of that girl)..
There are still different cases and reasons.. It all depends on the situation, as for you.. He denied it probably because he's scared of losing your bestfriend (am i right?)... Love is so complicated..

well, if you know of a guy thats doing that then that is rare.. but if a guy is doing that then he's either protecting that girls respect so she doesnt look bad. or he's ashamed of what he did with that girl.
