Hershey, M&M, Snickers... candy names are cute ;D Oreo is a little worn out, though. Try to avoid it.
Try famous people's names. Just name him John, Leo, or Brad... no one but you and your daughter will know that it's John Lennon, Leonardo Da Vinci, or Brad Pitt.
Watch him for a while and note his behaviors. You wouldn't want to call a hyperactive cat Sleepy, now would you? In the same way, you don't want your sweetheart Bounce to be constantly curled in a ball near the foot of your bed.
Note his distinctive features. This might lead to some worn-out names, though, like Whiskers and Patches and Socks. Come up with different names based on these- Whiskers could be ZeeZee (ZZ Top, of course!), Patches could be Jethro (Cause hillbillies wear lots of them!), and Socks could be... err... okay, I'm stuck here!
You could just wait a while for the name to pop out. My cat Boo was named Bonnie, but I always called him Boo like one of my favorite aunts called all of her nieces and nephews. Better than Bonnie (it's a he!) and appropriate, too- he's pure black.
