You need to go to the dentist and he will make you a mouth guard to wear at night.

i used to do this when i was little. i used to wake up the WHOLE house. :D lol

its not a good thing when u do it for a long period of time, it will hurt ur teeth AND jaws.
u can go to a store (target or walmart) and they have a mouth guard u stick on ur teeth and it protects them from the damage and harm when grinding. iv'e never used these b4 cause i grew out of the grinding, BUT i have heard these work really well. i really cant remember what they are called, i think its called "Night Gurad". if u get them @ walmart it is about $40.

u could also go to the dentist, but if u want to save some money and try this mouth guard, then why not. if it doesnt work, THEN u could go to the dentist.
Good Luck, and God Bless♥

Meg,

There is a reason you are grinding. That should be addressed first. Some common reasons are: Stress and Incorrect bite.

A store bought mouth gaurd is typically soft. It will protect your teeth but will do damage to your muscles and joint b/c you body wants to chew on it.

I would recommend a dentist fabricated hard guard. Though they are expensive, they will correct your bite and will last for many years if made correctly.

I just had one made, $450.00 but it has corrected my bite and I can not sleep without it now. It is very comfortable and I can even wear it in traffic if needed.

Trust me i used to grind my teeth at night. all you do is go to walgreens or walmart and ask them if they have any mouth guards against grinding and they will give you one that is very stiff! Or if you want it even more comfortable then you go to your dentist and let him get an imprint and then he will send it off to a lab that will make one that fits you VERY well. Ok? Best of Luck to Yer! By the way they don't hurt not a wee bit.

You should contact your dentist; he/she can fit you with a mouth guard to wear at night, to prevent you from wearing your teeth down. You might also want to talk with a doctor or therapist to see if you can get to the cause of your behavior.

You can purchase a night guard to wear at night at most stores in the dental isle(where the toothpaste isle is). I know Walgreen's carries them.

HAVE YOUR DENTIST MAKE YOU AN N.T.I. BRUXISM APPLIANCE. A NIGHT GUARD WILL NOT STOP THE GRINDING. YOU'LL STILL GRIND THE APPLIANCE DOES NOT ALLOW GRINDING AT ALL.

you can go to a sporting goods store and buy a mouth guard that football players use and that will help and would be cheaper than getting one from the dentist.
