I am going to start doing pilates for dummies and maybe some other workouts if I can find some. I come home from school and I go to sleep and I sleep until supper time. (I sleep bc I'm a very depressed person) So is it okay to excersise like a half an hour to an hour after supper? I heard somewhere that you shouldn't do this. Does anyone know if it is true? I also go to sleep because I am bored to death. I could try to stay up and excersise after school if excersing on a full stomach is bad for you.

If you are going to do Pilates, it is a pretty gentle "sport" in that you are not running. I would eat your main meal at lunch and eat something smaller (like a sandwich) for dinner. Everybody is different, I could never do a vigorous workout on a full stomach.
The +++ thing about starting an exercise program is that it will increase the endorphins (the chemicals in your brain that make you feel good). This may then counteract your depression. Find something to do between the time you get home and eat...read a book, chat online, call a friend.

Because your body is a machine, after eating, most of your blood flow is working to maintain your digestive system. (That's probably why you would feel sick working out on a full stomach.)
I would definitely avoid sleeping after school and workout. Are there any after school activities that you could involve yourself in? This will not only keep you awake, in addition to working out, it will keep you busy and help with your depression. (Having had depression most of my life, sometime just talking a walk clears my head and leaves me energized.)
BTW, how are your grades and when are you doing your homework?? I would say if you're putting off hw 'til after dinner, get it done in the afternoon!

Best of luck,
Mon :-)

I personally think that it is quite unhealthy to do such a thing. I have done that sometimes, but I always get dizzy and feel like the world is spinning, and i also feel like im not putting my best effort into the excercise. You feel much better working out after having digested your food. And if you actually wanna do the excercise.
