A green card is definitely a must if you cannot get married right away. Furthermore, how's your resume and other skills? Where do you plan to move in the USA may be helpful too! For instance, I'm a redneck conservative type so I bet Texas would love to have someone like me move there and share my business skills and other talents there! And I also love steak and meat rub too- yummy! Fishing and hunting would be right up my alley! In your case, you will also have to consider where your girlfriend lives too and how you can fit in in the state where she lives.

WOW...your making some real important life decisions here based on a person you have known through the typed word.
a internet relationship is nothing like one in real physical life.
Take it slower on getting to know who this person is in the physical form where the rest of your life will be played out.
You can start with a few vacations.....and then give something
more perminant a shot when you have had more than a few
hours fleeting excitement in the physical.
Go ck out getting a passport anyone who vacations in US can tell you where to go to get one.
Blessing and I hope it turns out to be all you both want from it.

What she have to do:
* She should go to the INS office to find more information and what she needs to do to begin the application process.
* She will need to file petition form for you and provide all the requirements for your applications, such as copy of her ID, Birth Certificate, bank statement (I am not kidding), or Pasport if she has one.
What You have to do:
* You can start by filing an application form for Non-Immigrant visa (fiance status/K1), and provide all requirements such as valid pasport, birth certificate, and correspondence (email, mail, picture) that you and her exchange for the past 3 years.
For more info, you should visit www.uscis.gov
To find more info for the requirements, you should call US embassy near you.

I don't think there are many restrictions for a Canadian citizen to come into the U.S. Just marry the girl, and 90% of it will be taken care of!
