That would be called a runt. There is no such thing as a mini lab.

NO there is no such thing as a minature Lab. He's just small right now give him time and he will grow. I hope this puppy is still with his mom!!!!!

there are two basic types of labs. the american and the british (also known as benchleg) versions. The american labs are generally larger in size while the british version are usually smaller. he could also be the runt of the litter.

he should though be with the mother for 8 wks.

Why do you have a 4 week old dog? He NEEDS to be with his mom and littermates at his age.

Get some help from any dog professional you can -- dog trainer, dog owners, veterinarian, SPCA. This puppy will need LOTS of extra training to replace what it should have been getting now from it's mom and sibs.

No there aren't miniature Labs...if he is undersized there may be an underlying medical issue or he may not be getting a chance to eat from mom like he should be..littermates may be pushing him out. I suggest that 1) you make sure he is getting a chance to nurse 2) that you take him to the vet to rule out a medical issue

God no, at least I hope not! Labs are such an adorable breed of dog the way they are, I wouldn't want to see one in miniature. I hate small dogs anyway. If my cat is bigger than the dog, I don't want it.

No, he can be a mixed breed, or a runt of the litter, but there's no breed such as a Miniature Labrador.

Dwarfism can be found in many breeds, Labradors being one of them. They usually have characteristics other than just the size issue. The best thing would be to check with your vet.
