it is physiologically impossible to cause localized fat loss through diet and exercise. it's good that you have been able to increase the body weight but the fact that while even being "thin" you are gaining body fat this is a sign that your insulin sensitivity is low and that you need to eat more of the right kinds of foods and exercise more. when the muscles are exercised they respond better to the effects of insulin and they uptake more nutrients. the more nutrient uptake in skeletal muscle the less will get stored in the fat cells

You need to do aerobic exercise that is sepcific to the area where you want to lose weight. This is because during aerobic exercise your body will burn fat local to the muscles being used to conversion into energy in that area. Obviously this is a much more efficient system for the body as the energy is coming from where it's being used.
So what I'm saying to you is, you need to do exercises that last for 5 mins +, preferably a lot longer that are local to your stomach i.e. sit-ups and crunches. These will both have the effect of burning stomach fat, whilst at the same time tightnening the muscles in that area, also giving the impression of there being less fat there.
The best way to do this is in a routine, so every morning when you wake up, or every evening before bed. You are aiming to do as many as you can, then rest, then do as many as you can again, then quit for the evening. You should see progression here, so maybe at the start of the 1st week you could do 20 sit-ups in 1 go, but by the end of the week you can do 30 in 1 go. This is a good thing, just carry on doing as many as you can, rest for around a minute, then do as many as you can again.
If your muscles feel a little achey 1 day when routine time comes along, do not exercise on that day, give your muscles a chance to recover.
Hope this helps, and good luck.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!

There really isn't a way to lose fat off of a particular part of the body. All the situps/crunches, etc do is tighten the muscles. The only real way to lose localized fat is through liposuction--which is quite a risk to take for an inch off the tummy.

Keep doing crunches. If that doesn't work, lose about 10 pounds. The only other alternative is lipo-suction. Good luck.
