I quit smoking cold turkey 3 days ago , everything was good untill I felt really realllyy in need of a cigarette and I just went outside and bought some and smoked.

:(

Now I feel so bad about what I have done. I have failed again. I have tried every method out there to quit nothing worked. Cold turkey was the best so far (usually I get back to smoking within 1 day) Looks like I'm gonna get cancer or something before I quit. I've been smoking for only like 4-6 years (about half a pack a day) no big deal I know but still... I wanna quit really..

Now that I failed do u think I can try to quit again ? Do you think there is a chance in hell for me to succeed :( help !!!!!!! :'(

No! You have not failed! That was just a practice run for when you quit for good! Each time you quit, you will learn something new, you will give your body a break from the smoke, and it won't be a wasted effort.

My friend's husband quit for at least a year (and still counting!) using this method: He used the nicotine gum, but doubled the dose, and doubled the length of time for weaning himself off. I don't know the details, but say the package says chew one every four hours for a week, then cut down to one every eight hours for a week, etc. He chewed one every two hours for two weeks, then cut down to one every four hours for two weeks, etc, etc. Of course, you don't want to overdo it! If you are having the symptoms of nicotine poisoning, then cut down!

I think the important thing to do is keep a smoke diary -- figure out why you smoke, and what is the trigger that makes you smoke again. Do you like having something in your mouth? Does stress cause it? Does being with other people who smoke make you start smoking, too? You can avoid those situations, or figure out other things to do instead of smoking.

Also, try not to buy a pack of cigarettes. Try to always bum one off of someone if you feel like you really, really need a ciggie. Or buy *them* a pack, and ask for just one. If you have to ask, it's a lot more work, and you may find you don't really want a cigarette that bad.

I wish you luck!

Yes, you failed. But failure is not permanent. If you go cold turkey again, and you desperately "need a fix", go out and by some nicotine gum instead. It will help the craving to pass, you will then get a sense of control in your life, plus you will be saving about $1000 -$2000 per year, depending on the cost of half a pack per day (over 4-6 years how much does that add up to?).
A recent large study of about 27000 people in 52 countries concluded that even a small amount of exposure to tobacco increases risk of cancer and heart disease. So don't take any comfort in saying that half a pack is no big deal.

One cigarette, or even one pack of cigarettes doesn't mean you have failed. It only means that you have to get back on the horse--or the wagon;) There is a lot of help out there for someone who wants to quit smoking. I suggest you check it out and possibly join a support group! Good luck, and try not to let setbacks get you down. Quitting any addiction is hard work, and you need to give yourself a break mentally--don't beat yourself up over it!

maybe you should start smoking 2 cigarettes a day for 3 days and then 1 a day for 3 days. after that, start chewing gum and eating sunflower seeds. you should never give up because you think you'll fail the next time.
good luck!
