I'm guessing he's either drunk at the time or hung over and getting the food cravings typical of the "morning after" a bender. Alcohol in excess will actually sap your body's stores of certain nutrients, vitamin B for example. He's probably craving something high protein but he has no drive to cook.

Drunk people do crazy things. Usually a little gnarlier than eating gravy though....maybe you just should hide the gravy. lol

Wow, probably because it's greasy and salty, best of both worlds for an drunk person. As a friend drive him/her to your nearest fast food place that serves poutine (try A&W) don't drive, offer some nice greasy food like pizza or chips!

maybe he is too lazy or drunk to cook and feels that he needs some type of nourishment...maybe he just likes it or maybe thats all he has?
