I already work out on a regular basis, but I really want to change how I eat. Does this sound like a good diet plan to lose weight?

Breakfast: Eggs

Lunch: Powerbar

Dinner: Salad and Chicken

and water throughout the day.

Do you have any suggestions? Thanks. :)

You definitely need more food!
Examples are:
Breakfast--An egg, 1 slice of bread and a fruit (or 1 serving of 100% fruit juice)
Or..1 slice of toast, peanut butter (watch the serving--some are 1 tablespoon, others are 2!), and fruit (or juice).
Lunch should include a protein/dairy (cottage cheese, tuna, lean meat, string cheese, yogurt), a big salad (don't be afraid of eating too much salad because you can't!) and other veggies or another fruit.
Afternoon snack can be a protein/dairy and a fruit.
Supper should include 2 veggie servings (or V-8), a protein, salad or fruit.
You can have an evening snack. This should be a fat. Yes, you need a serving of fat. This can be nuts, peanut butter, seeds, olives...You can even have a 100 calorie bag of popcorn or some other snack. Just try to pick something with protein to help get you through the night!

Try to journal what you eat, when you eat and how many calories you're taking in. That way you can look back and make adjustments as necessary.

Don't forget the water! Drink water--no soda!! Water really does help with weight loss.

Good luck!☺

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories a day you need to maintain your weight. take 300-400calories off that number and thats how many you need to lose weight.
work out - cardio 4-6 times a week for 30-50min plus light weight weight training
8 glasses of water a day
5-8 servings of fruit and vegetables a day
instead of big meals eat 5-6 small meals a day (portion control)
no junk food, no bleached flower (e.g.white bread, pasta), no sodas

I would worry that if you restrict what you eat, you'll end up going on binges. I have a friend who continued to eat whatever she wanted, but ate only half of each portion. She lost a tremendous amount of weight, has kept it off for years, and didn't have to deny herself any of the foods she loved. It is worth a try. Good luck to you.
