I would take him to the vet. It could be a problem with his kidneys or thyroid, or he could have swallowed something like a string. If he's not eating or drinking and he's still vomiting he could get dehydrated quickly.

Have you fed your cat canned or pouched wet food recently? I work at a pet store and we just got recalls on over 40 different types of canned or pouched wet food. The suppliers say the cause is unknown, but we had many vomiting cats and dogs brought into our clinic...Some had to be put to sleep because it was too late. Some were also vomiting up foamy white fluids. Get your cat into the vet NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even if your cat didn't eat the canned or pouched wet food, the least the vets can do is give your cat fluids through an iv because if your cat has thrown up that much it is probably dehydrated by now. Please go to the vet. Good luck!

Last year my cat vomitted somewhere around 15-18 times. The vet checked and found no reason. He said not to give her any food for 24 hours and only a little water at a time. Then slowly reintroduce the food a tablespoon to start with of WET food. Slowly increase the amounts every 3-4 hours. After 2-3 days then begin reintroducing the dry food mixed with the wet food. It took about a week but she was just fine. Also, the Vet did an xray of her body to check for any type of obstruction.

Take your kitty to the vet!!! He is very sick and will have serious problems caused by dehydration, don't try force feeding him water it will cause him to vomit even more, I dont think this is a hairball; I have two cats now and have had cats all my life hairballs are simple this is very serious cats rarely vomit, he needs a vet FAST! Call your vets office, if it is closed it will usually have an answering machine that has a message with a number for emergencies, possibly another clinic or the vets home number. CALL IT !!!! This is an emergency so PLEASE, PLEASE take your poor baby to the vet he needs medical treatment right away.

My dog did the same thing. I literally thought he was dead. He would just lay there with his eyes open and never move. He didn't eat, drink, walk, or nothing. If I tried to get him to walk he would drag his back legs, like he was paralyzed half way down his body. It was the saddest thing ever. I took him to the vet and they did umpteen thousands of million dollar tests and turned out he had kidney disease. They asked me some questions that had to do with causing his problem. They asked me if we had been feeding him table scraps and if so, had I just started giving them to him. Well stupid me DID just start giving him table scraps and he was 9 years old. They told me that since his body wasn't use to all the fat and stuff from the table scraps, his kidneys broke down and couldn't handle it. We ended up having to put him to sleep or he would of died a painful, slow death other words. Now I'm not sure if any of this relates to your problem, but it sounds like what my dog did. He vomited white foam and never ate. He did just what you described and then what I said as well. I know some cats don't eat scrap food, but then again some cats do, so I thought maybe it could be a possibility. But, yes you should most definitely take him to the vet. Don't freak out, good luck, and best of wishes.

Foamy white vomit means he is nauseated........ I would say to hold off on taking him to the vet, HOWEVER, he has vomited more than 10 times. Cats are small and can dehydrate quickly. This can become more of a serious problem than it actually is if he dehydrates. Call your vet as soon as you can!

You need to take him to the vet as soon as possible, tell the vet its an emergency.
When a cat throws up its really serious. But most of the time the vet can help it.

1. Get a flashlight and some help, and check his throat for anything that might be stuck in there.
2. Find an emergency vet. ASAP. Tonight, if you can.
3. If you can't get a vet until morning, try to keep him drinking. It's probably better that he doesn't eat anyway, but he needs to stay hydrated.

Jesus Christ, woman....get medical help for the poor cat immediately! I can't believe you even have to ask! When you see an animal suffering like that, you should take it to the vet without giving it a second thought! I thought this was common sense! Jeez...
It sounds like the cat is dying. Dehydration and failure to drink water usually indicates kidney failure! TAKE THE POOR ANIMAL TO A VET IMMEDIATELY! If your vet is closed, find a vet with an emergency room that is open! Go!

If there's an emergency vet in your area, go there now. If not and you have to wait until morning, try to feed him some boiled chicken and rice. This is not a hairball. Hairballs come up pretty easily and they don't lose appetite over that. As soon as the vet's office opens, call and tell them what's happening. They'll tell you to bring him in right away.
In the meantime check the cat food recall list and see if his food is on it. Pet him and comfort him. Poor kitty.
