Don't be a banana. Every number given out, whether to "known" subscribers, or "unknown" pay as you go users, is given over to the domestic spy agencies in every western country in the world. Numbers are then run through a program, and their use recorded. All mobile phone calls are logged. It is an absolute sham, that the mobile phone service providers claim that they can't trace mobile calls to their exact location. If that were the case, you wouldn't be billed on a per call basis, nor could anyone call you. I remember when the Emergency services used to claim not being able to respond to emergency mobile calls, because they had no idea where the person calling, was. Police have always known, but until recently have been reluctant to reveal this information. Criminals embraced the mobile phone technology, and Police and counter terrorism agencies have kept mum about how well they can monitor cell phone activity. And don't be fooled by the fact that Osama and the boys use satfones and haven't been caught. How did our counter terrorism agencies know that Osama was using this branch of the technology in the first place. It's not like the Al-Qaeda have their own satellites for crying out loud. Go and buy an old satfone and try and use it for free. Even if you can hack into the system, the system will know you're doing it. And before you can say, my mum's got big balls, a couple of blokes wearing non descript clothing, and sporting rather blase attitudes toward human rights, will be knocking on your door with every intention of ensuring you pay a bill. That's how John Reid will be texting all those people whose Visas have become outdated.

This is a ridiculous "New Labour" spin. It says "we are doing something about illegal immigration." But everyone knows it's b@llocks. If i were an illegal i'd hardly be worried about recieving a text from thr govt saying "Plz Leev th Cntry Now". I'd just buy a new SIM card and get on with things. This government is pathetic and stupid. Only another 2 years to go till we can get rid of them. If they don't take away our votes (for our own good) before then.

What a fairy tale- how can such an incompetent still be in any position beyond that of tending cabbages.
