I believe that person has been under control by those 2 officers, so I wonder if he would be able to press charges?

It would be nice to see what happened before this video clip started. I would also like to see what the Officer's use of force policy says, specifically about tasers.

But on the video the person being taken down was clearly resisting officers, he was trying to get back up and he was fighting the placement of his hands behind his back and not allowing the officers to handcuff him.

Now I know it was two officers against one man, but if you have never tried to handcuff someone who did not want to ba handcuffed it can be really hard to do without hurting the man.

A lot of use of force policies dictate things like pepper spray and tasers be used before hands on fighting as they are considered temporary controls and leave no lasting injuries, while fighting with the person can injure them and the officers.

the guy was not under control so i would say that is was the right choice to use a taser to keep the officers and and the guy resisting from getting hurt. Ive been tased before and trust me it puts a stop to anything but just wanting to lay there

Press charges for what? He was resisting and/or failing to follow their lawful orders. He clearly was at risk to himself and the officers. The use of the taser has been shown (time and again) to reduce injury to officers and suspects.
Although this suspect is not swinging and fighting, he is resisting their efforts to subdue him.
The officers can not stop and pleasantly ask the man to stop resisting. He clearly started a disturbance in a court room, I would suspect he was emotionally distraught or upset by something happening in the court. He as not acting rationally and hence had to be subdued.
Instead of smashing his head into the floor or piling on top of him (risking serious injury to the suspect), they used the tools at their disposal. By all standards, their actions were justified.

Absolutely not. If he presses charges, he will not win. I have seen hundreds of cases in which tasers were misused. Although an oversight commission might find for the victim, internal Affairs will back the officer(s).

Suspect was far from being under control, they had him down but no control at all. He was still resisting and kicking. With added physcial force which could have seriously injured the suspect they would have gotten him, but this wayhe was injured less and controled much faster without other possible injury to any bystanders.

Worked and procedure just like it is suppose to be used.

Looked like a good job by the officers

I find taser use excessive. I've seen a cop tasering a woman because she was calling a friend to say she was in trouble.

Police brutality is common place in America. It's too bad Americans are too racist, scared and stupid to do anything about it.

They think "America" is immune to this, that the 2nd amendment iwll fix it for them

Americans are stupid.

and Kevin **** you. You're a nazi piece of shlt.

Yeah...no. I don't think tazering that guy was necessary. he is like 130 years old. If these two stud cops cant handle some skinny old geezer, they should find another line of work.

Just another example of this crap.

Looks like he got what he had coming. This should be show as a spot commercial to explain what happens when you don't comply with the police. Man it looked like it really hurt too. I hear most people wet their pants when they get hit.
