With claims? Tell me about your experiences, both good and bad. Be sure to include the company's name.

I've had two terrible experiences with The Hartford, one as a policy holder, another as a claimant. These people are crooks! Don't ever do business with them.

I've had no real problems. What problems did you have????

I even had one which was sort of funny.
I had a fender bender. I live across the street from a body shop, and I got an estimate from them . The other driver's ins told me to take the car to their drive in claims svc.

My garage estimated the cost of a new fender. Their adjustor felt the old fender could be repaired, and paid the claim based on that. - and it was $ 30.00 higher than that from the body shop.
I asked why they paid the higher amount.
They replied, "they go by their estimates, not estimates they didn't ask for. Have a nice day!"

our health insurance is through blue cross blue shield when we put our daughter in speech therapy we had to jump through hoops to get them to cover it

our homeowners, auto, and life insurance is through state farm and i tell you what they are well worth the little more you pay for them i have heard horror stories from friends about filing claims with other companies and i am so glad to be with a company that has never given us a bit of problem with claim service my washing machine overflowed a few years ago and soaked our downstairs level (we were upstairs at the time) we called they had an adjuster there the next day and the day after that they cut us a check to replace the carpet and the baseboards down there i never would have thought to replace them since we cleaned the water up with my carpet cleaner quickly but they said to do it and even recommended a great guy to do the work even though it was our choice who did it

It's kind of hard for me to comment on this as i used to be a claims adjuster and I saw it from the other side for way too many years.

Claims adjusters see so much fraud, people trying to get something for nothing, faking injuries, faking claims period, we get sort of suspicious of pretty much everyone after a while.

I could probably tell you a lot more stories of people that committed or tried to commit insurance fraud then you could tell me stories of people that got cheated or felt they got cheated by the insurance companies.

Sorry. But insurance fraud is a multi-BILLION dollar business in this country. And yes, that was billion, not million. Fraudulant claims is big business.

They're all stupid. Each one is dumber than the next. For me to name specifics, we'll be here all week! One general thing though - Aetna told me they are so skimpily staffed the last two weeks of the year, hardly anything gets paid.
