I have the same deal on my elbows. You need to get rid of the dry skin, this is what makes the area darker. Firstly exfoliate in the shower with a wash cloth everyday, and then when you get out apply moisturizer, a good tick one like a body butter, to the area every day. This should help a lot- it did for me!

If you are saying that it is a little darker than the rest of your skin than I suggest that you use cocoa butter. It will help to smooth out the difference. Since I am not to sure how much darker your skin is if that seems to not work go to a dermatologist and ask them for help. If you don't have the money to see one try Aveda store or a Maly's Store they are good helpers. Maybe even Arbonne. Hope this helps.

Use Palmer's Fading Cream. More of a reasonable price than some of the other products for skin toning or darkened spots.

You can use pumice stone on the dark areas after a hot bath(knuckles, knees, elbows, feet) and then apply sun block night and day.

My daughter who is 11 also has this problem. May I ask, are your knees darker also? My grandmother says it is because she is part indian but I dont believe this is why. I would love to know the answer to this because my daughter hates it.

I think you should be glad no matter what color is on ur body, are u saying that if ur whole body was dark, that would be disgusting? Think about what ur saying, r u saying that dark colored people are disgusting? Sounds a little bias to me.
